DJ and Music Production
A unique workshop for young people aged 8 – 16 years old to learn the art of DJ-ing and an introduction to music technology in a fun and educational way for students at primary and secondary level.
Use mixing consoles to beat match, blend, cut, paste and scratch music to create a DJ mix. No need to play an instrument or own any equipment. All you really need to start is an elementary sense of rhythm, which we can help you develop by improving your motor skills.

Singing workshops for 8 – 18 year olds. Join Surrey Youth Choir director, Cole Bendall, in an engaging workshop for young vocalists and singers. The workshops will contain a diverse mix of music including folk, classical, spirituals and musical theatre.
Singing for 8-12 year olds
Woking Library, 10am-12.30pm, Monday 19 August
The morning workshop at Woking Library on 19 August is for primary school aged singers. The workshop will include a fun and diverse range of music including folk, spirituals, classical and music theatre. No experience is necessary for this introductory level workshop. All you need is a love of singing!
Singing for 13-18 year olds – CANCELLED
Woking Library, 1.30pm-4.00pm, Monday 19 August – CANCELLED
The afternoon workshop at Woking Library on 19 August is for teen-aged singers with some previous musical experience who want to improve their technique. The workshop include music from the world of music theatre, as well as popular, world music and classical. If you love singing and want to build your skills, this workshop is for you!
Singing for 10-14 year olds
Walton Youth Centre, Wednesday 10am-12.30pm, 21 August
The Walton on Thames workshop is for younger teen singers. The workshop will include a fun and diverse range of music including folk, spirituals, classical and music theatre. No experience is necessary for this introductory level workshop. All you need is a love of singing!
All singing workshops are led by Surrey Youth Choir Director, Cole Bendall. Critically acclaimed for his work with the pre-professional vocal ensemble, the Reid Consort, Cole’s other posts include as Musical Director of the Athenaeum Singers of Warminster and Chorus Master of Haslemere Musical Society alongside posts in liturgical music. In 2018, Cole worked with the Grammy-winning Rundfunkchor Berlin (Berlin Radio Choir) conducting them in concert in Verdi Te Deum. He has appeared in masterclasses with Sonoro Choir (London), Wimbledon Choral Society, the Royal Northern College of Music and Hallé Youth Orchestra. He has worked with, among other groups, the British Sinfonietta, Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus, Universities of Scotland Symphony Orchestra and Byre Opera, recently acting as Chorus Master on a tour of Handel Xerxes. One of the top 16 conductors featured at the Gheorges Dima Choral Conducting Competition, Romania (2018), Cole has also been awarded the Oxford University Press Andrew Potter Bursary by the Association of British Choral Directors (2017) and support from the Help Musicians UK TRANSMISSION fund.
