IDEA Strategy: Musical Offer
Statement of intent
Our musical offer is responsive to individual needs so all children and young people can access musical opportunities easily and develop their musical aspirations through a diverse range of progression routes.
Our vision is that our musical offer is responsive to individual needs so all children and young people can access musical opportunities easily and develop their musical aspirations through a diverse range of progression routes. We aim to increase support for young people facing barriers to engagement (Children in Care, NEET, Displaced, FSM) to help build engagement with hub activity.
Over the course of this year we will be focusing on:
- Building our out of school offer
- Partnership building with new and existing stakeholders including Targeted Youth Intervention Support Teams, Cultural Services Colleagues, Looked After Children Teams, NHS, Pupil Referral Units, Surrey Police
- Launching Children in Care Youth Choir (Nu-Vox)
- Embedding our remissions policy through our Youth Music funded programme (ISM-Next Generation)
- Projects in PRUs, a homeless centre (Amber Foundation), Youth Offending (Tree House) Programmes for C&YP with additional needs
- CPD and training to increase workforce’ skills and knowledge
