IDEA: Vision, Values and Strategy

Statement of intent

Our inclusion, diversity, equality, diversity and access (IDEA) action plan for 2022 to 2025 aims to make IDEA central to the culture of both the music hub and Surrey Arts. Our action plan will be published by the end of July 2023 and will incorporate, across each of these eight pillars, clear actions, timescale, accountability, outcomes and impact. We have radical ambitions for IDEA, and we will be transparent and open with stakeholders about our intentions and how we will take responsibility for achieving them.

IDEA is core to our vision and values as can be identified in our LPME, needs analysis and SMART objectives.

We are passionate about providing a diverse and rich musical offer for all young people which is relevant and designed with young people.

We have an ambitious programme of transformation over the coming year, and engaging young people in the development of our services is a priority for the hub. This will be achieved through the development of our youth voice strategy and through a programme of engagement (focus groups, youth conference, regular feedback from young people).

We have identified the following SMART objectives as a priority for the coming year;

  • Improve our capacity to measure impact across all our programmes
  • Increase opportunities for young people to shape our hub provision through a clear codesign framework and to undertake leadership responsibilities as part of our youth voice plan
  • Ensure the hub has full understanding of the quality of provision across all areas of activity
