As part of the Making & Believing project Surrey Arts are promoting two early years specific shows this Spring/Summer – Egg & Spoon and Babble and we are looking for some host settings.

Egg & Spoon is an interactive romp through the seasons, where you get to open all the gifts of nature. Percy and April get you settled on your very own grassy island and introduce you to Birdy, still hiding in his glowing egg. We have to wait till Spring if we want to see him so it’s time to begin our hands-on journey through the year. We’ll run through the rain and the falling leaves and sleep under the snow till the sun wakes us up for the butterfly party.

Egg & Spoon will be touring May 17, 18 and 19, with two performances per day, with up to 35 children attending each performance.

Babble: Listen to the world around you…gurgles, burbles, growls, crackles and crunches fill the space. What sound is that? Is it excited? Is it happy? What sounds do you like? Mik & Kin are Sound Collectors. Boxes of their favourite sounds have been checked, all ready to take home. But the boxes are not behaving – naughty giggles slip through the cracks and are causing chaos. Storms are raging and the sounds are unleashed. Mik & Kin need your help to soothe the troubled storm with a lullaby and lure the giggle with new, enticing sounds. Your voices will help in the creation of a new and unique piece of music that you get to take home.

Babble will be touring June 27, 28 and 29, with three performances per day, with up to 20 children attending each performance and is ideal for SEND or EAL children.

Further information

Each production will need a performance space of approx. 4-5m square with space for audience, so a school hall is ideal and, as each show is more than one performance in the day, they will need to stay set up for the duration.

At least one performance must be for your nursery age children but the other(s) can be opened up to Reception classes or external visitors such as local childminders.

The fee of just £125 per day is heavily subsidised and it is your choice whether or not you charge for tickets.  If you are interested, please contact by Wednesday 30 March.
