I Speak Music presents Music from around the World

These free, fun and inspiring music sessions will be interactive with opportunities for students to participate musically. The sessions will aim to be as inclusive as possible and no previous musical experience is needed. 

Music from Syria and the Middle East

An introduction to music from Syria and the Middle East. This session will be led by world renown voila player and Surrey Arts tutor Raghad Haddad. The session will be supported by Bassel Haddad, a professional musician and teacher who will be joining us live for this unique and incredible opportunity from Syria.

Flamenco dance and music with a Middle Eastern twist

An interactive and fun introduction to flamenco rhythms, music and dance with a Middle Eastern twist! The session will be led by Surrey Art’s very own Sara Khoroosi supported by guitarist Fergus Paton and dancer Waffa Paton. 

This will be a participatory experience with music and dancing for all!

Learn about the rich and ancient culture of Latin America and experience some of the rhythms that shape the music we listen to everyday. This session will be led by Surrey Art’s very own Sandro Granda with world renown musician and ethnomusicologist Franklin Quezada, live from El Salvador!
